Nigeria's Super Eagles on Wednesday defeated the Squirrels of Benin 2-1 during the Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) qualifier opening Group L match, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The squirrels had the first goal in the 3rd minute of the match but Eagles' Victor Osimhen equalized with a penalty at the end of the first half.
Samuel Kalu scored the second goal at the 65th minute which secured the Eagles' victory.
Super Eagles are set to face the Crocodiles of Lesotho on Sunday.
