Former Brazil and Real Madrid midfield Maestro, Kaka has disclosed that he is optimistic the club can do more to triumph over their poor start to the season and deliver a major trophy at the end of the season. Madrid has only won just two of their opening five competitive matches of 2019-20.

Draws against Real Valladolid and Villarreal in the Premiere Division and a 3-0 defeat at PSG in the Champions League this week has spell doom to Zinedine Zidane’s position as coach.

However, Kaka who emerged winner of a domestic league title with Madrid in 2011-12 and the Copa del Rey a season earlier, noted the expectation around Santiago Bernabeu.

He told Omnisport: “For Real Madrid, there is always a way out in the end for Madrid.

While acknowledging this is a big-time challenge for Zidane – he said Madrid needs to win something. La Liga or the Champions League. These are the two main trophies that are regarded most important for both supporters and the club.

“Of course, he knows that. I think Real Madrid has a very good team, very good players and an unbelievable coach.

“Real Madrid is ready to win something this season again,” Kaka added.
