Sequel to his arrest yesterday by France Police, Ahmad Ahmad, President of the Confederation of African Football has been reportedly released. He was released without charge in France on Friday, a day after being arrested for questioning, the Marseille public prosecutor said.

Ahmad was released after he was believed to have answer questions into alleged corruption, breach of trust and forgery case.

The Confederation President was in Paris for the FIFA Congress ahead of the start of the Women’s World Cup. Ahmad’s marquee event, the African Cup of Nations, kicks off in Egypt on June 21.
