Manchester United is set to lose over £38m in bonuses, if it fails to qualify for next year’s European Champions League competition.

The club has already lost the opportunity of qualifying for the top competition through the domestic league route when it failed to finish in the English Premier League top four.

The Red Devil's only hope of qualification now rest with defeating Ajax Amsterdam in the Europa League Cup final billed to take place at the 50, 000 capacity Friends Arena Stadium, Stockholm, Sweden on May 24th .

To boost the morale of the team the management of the club has approved a 25% pay raise for each player in the event that they defeat Ajax and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Players would also pocket about £1million as incentives. This has come as a reversal after the Club allegedly slashed the wages of 22 players to the tune of £28million the previous summer. Only Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly who joined Old Trafford in the summer were exempted from the cut.
