FIFA has confirmed that Neymar presented a counter-claim to FIFA over the controversial payment of a bonus by Barcelona, after the player signed a new contract with the club before joining Paris Saint Germain. Recall that on Tuesday, Barcelona launched a legal battle against their former playmaker over alleged breach of contract. The club requested the player to refund about nine million Euros earlier paid to him as bonus.

Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the winner of the UEFA Footballer of the Year ahead of Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Buffon during a gala ceremony organized by the European football governing body in Monaco. The award was handed to the player after the Champions League draw was concluded.

FIFA says it is sending in an emergency management team to run the troubled Cameroon football federation. The panel to be appointed by FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will oversee elections by next March to replace disputed polls in 2015 for the Cameroon Federation board.
