Two weeks after playing a 2-2 draw with Cameroon Women's National U-17 team, the Flamingos forced their hosts to a 1-1 draw at the Yaoundé Omnisports Stadium, but it was not enough to see them qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay.

The Cameroonians started the stronger of the two teams and were unfortunate not to take the lead inside two minutes when a lob from Henriette Monkam hit the woodwork.

Kano Pillars defender Chinedu Udoji has sadly passed away. He lost his life following an auto accident in Kano on Sunday night.

Udoji was on his way back to the Kano Pillars club house after he visited his former Enyimba teammates at their hotel when the incident happened.

“Chinedu Udoji was involved in a car accident yesterday after visiting his former team mates at Enyimba. This tragic accident happened along Club Road in Kano.

“Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country,” Kano Pillars stated on the Twitter account on Monday morning.

Tunisia were the first African team, in 23rd, followed by Senegal in the 27th. Congo DR climbed four places to attain the 39th position, while Egypt, defending Nations Cup winners slipped 13 places to 43rd. Morocco are 42nd, in the new ranking.
