Red Bull Racing has revealed the car it hopes will take it to the 2018 Formula One World Championship. It's the third team to reveal its car for this season, following Haas and Williams. Sticking with its existing naming scheme, the car is called the RB14 and may well be the last Red Bull to use Renault power units.

It's the first car under the Aston Martin partnership, with the team officially known as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing this year. The team's drivers for this season remain as Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

The overall shape of the RB14 is familiar, as there isn't a significant change to the technical regulations for 2018.

However some new bodywork rules means the car goes without the shark fin of the last couple of seasons. It's also missing the "T-wing" aero devices that sprouted on last season's cars, and the under-wing "monkey seat".

Naturally, the most significant change is the Halo device. Introduced as a new, mandatory safety device, this Y-shaped bar sits around the cockpit area to protect the driver's head from impacts. It's a controversial change, proving to be aesthetically challenging.

For the third season in a row, the Red Bull car will use a TAG Heuer-branded Renault engine. The team has had a very public spat with Renault over the reliability of the hybrid V6 turbo, which has seen it lose hundreds of potential championship points.

As a result, 2018 may be the last season for the chassis-engine combination that took four straight constructor and driver titles.

The blue and black livery is rather striking, but don't get used to it. It's merely a special edition colour scheme, with the team unveiling the official paint job at the first pre-season test in Catalunya.
