Manchester United striker, Sergio Aguero has reportedly suffered broken ribs following his involvement in a vehicular crash on Thursday in Amsterdam. According to ESPN, the incident occurred when the City star was travelling in a taxi to Amsterdam airport to take a flight back to Manchester ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday.


The report hinted that the player was in Amsterdam to attend the concert of Colombian singer Maluma and had earlier posted an image of his himself with the performer on Instagram.


Unconfirmed reports have however indicated that the player may have suffered broken ribs and could miss the crucial Saturday tie with Chelsea at Stanford Bridge as well as Argentina's remaining World Cup qualifying matches. He may resume action sometime in November or December.


Aguero has scored a total of seven goals for Manchester City in all competitions this season. Gabriel Jesus may be called upon to lead City's attacking line when they confront Antonio Conte's men on Saturday.


Meanwhile, Manchester United have confirmed the incident and disclosed that club doctors would today assess the degree of injuries sustained by the player. The club made the disclosure in a statement on its official website. The statement read in part
