President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday hosted the victorious players and officials of the D’Tigress, Nigeria’s women basketball team before presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The President also announced N1 million gift for each of the female basketball players while each official of the team will receive N500,000.
The team won the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Mali after last clinching the title in 2005 and also qualified for the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup slated for Spain.
