The United States Embassy in Nigeria has denied reports that it rejected the visa application of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners' Chapel International. According to Punch, a newspaper had reported that the cleric was denied a visa, a report which went viral on social media.

The Edo State House of Assembly on Monday sacked Mr. Patrick Aguinede, the suspended chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, over alleged unremitted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The bill to grant full autonomy for the Local Government Council election has passed a second reading in the House of Reps, the bill when finally approved will allow INEC to conduct the election for Chairman, Vice Chairman and councillors of the Local government.
