Nigeria's court of appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday, 9th May 2019 ruled in favour of Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the duly elected Governor of Osun state.

The Judgment read by Justice Jummai Sankey with other four panelist of judges set aside the judgment delivered by the election petition tribunal which upheld that, there was no need for the electoral umpire; Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the election inconclusive rather, should declare senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored the highest number of votes then, as the Osun state Governor.

Meanwhile, as the ruling APC are jubilating victory, counsel to Adeleke and the PDP are yet to make public their next step of either conceding to the defeat or proceed further to the supreme court.
