The All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential campaign earlier slated to kick off tomorrow Wednesday, 28th September 2022 has been indefinitely suspended. The statement was made known by the Director-General campaign for the Tinibu/Shettima campaign train, Governor Samuel Lalong of plateau state. He revealed that the reason for the suspension was premised on the need to expand the campaign team which the party felt should accommodate more stakeholders. He disclosed that the party will soon decide on the new date and would be made public soon.

The statement partly reads; “Recall that we had earlier earmarked a peace walk and prayers for Wednesday, September 28, 2022, to officially kick-off our campaigns for the 2023 Presidential Elections.

“We had also announced that the members of the Campaign Council report at the Campaign Headquarters on that day to collect their letters of appointments.

He added “However, due to the expansion of the list to accommodate more stakeholders and interests within the APC family, we have decided to adjust the timetable of these activities in order to ensure everyone is on board before activities officially commence.

“Consequently, the activities earlier announced for the 28th of September will no longer hold”.

Meanwhile, vigil360 learned that the postponement of the campaign train may be connected to the earlier rumor that some APC governors were not happy with the campaign team and have threatened to work against it.
