The Federal Government has arraigned Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West, before an Abuja High Court on two-count charge of allegedly giving flase information about an attempted assassination on his life to the police in 2017,as well as framing Edward David, Chief of Staff of Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi state.

Melaye was charged before Justice Olasumbo Goodluck, he had accused Edward of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame him as the mastermind behind the alleged attempt to assassinate him.

 

Dino stormed the court with a mammoth crowd of protesters displaying placards of various inscriptions, accompanied by Ben Murray-Bruce, Senator representing Bayelsa East, and Mao Ohuabunwa, senator representing Abia North.

 

At the court on Thursday, Melaye pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

 

Some protesters under the aegis of Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CNYL) stormed the high court in Maitama, Abuja in solidarity with Melaye.
