The All Progressives Congress has cleared the winner of its August 26 Anambra State primary, Tony Nwoye, as the party’s standard bearer for November 18 governorship election in the state.

The Governorship Primary Appeal Committee of the party, led by Dr. Hassan Lawal, had investigated and dismissed an appeal filed by one the aspirants, Senator Andy Uba, paving the way for Nwoye’s candidacy.

Nwoye was subsequently cleared at a meeting of the party’s National working Committee, held on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The NWC led by the party’s chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, considered the report of the appeal committee which corroborated earlier report by the Chairman of the Anambra APC Governorship Primary Committee, Governor Kashim Shettima, that the primary was free, fair and credible.
