2023: APC, PDP Names Festus Keyamo, Dino Melaye As Spokespersons

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo as its campaign spokesperson, while the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has named Senator Dino Melaye and Dr Daniel Bwala as spokespersons for the upcoming presidential campaign.

Abdullahi Adamu, APC national chairman on Thursday during a presidential visit of the party's presidential candidate and running mate, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, unveiled Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State as the Director General of the party’s presidential campaign organisation. Along with the Plateau State governor, the party also announced the appointment of Minister of State Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo as the campaign spokesperson.

Upon his appointment, Lalong who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum stated that he was surprised when he heard the announcement, and had promised to work along with the established structure of the party.

Relatably, Paul Ibe, the media adviser of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has also named Senator Dino Melaye and Dr Daniel Bwala as spokespersons.

According to Mr Ibe, “Melaye is a politician and a member of the 8th Senate who represented Kogi West Senatorial district. He hails from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State. Bwala, on the other hand, is a legal practitioner, politician, and public affairs analyst. He hails from Adamawa State.”
