The presidency has disclosed to Nigerians that President Buhari can administer over Nigeria from any part of the world as long as he is in good health.
This followed the call from some section of Nigerians demanding that Buhari should have transmitted power to his vice president, Yemi Osinbajo before embarking on a medical trip to London, United Kingdom yesterday.
Buhari left the shores of Nigeria yesterday for a routine medical check-up in the United Kingdom, and he is expected to rest for two weeks while in the UK.
However, while having an interactive section with a journalist on Channel Television program “politics today” the Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, revealed that his boss did not violet any law by failing to transmit power to his vice president while on the medical trip.
When asked if President Buhari has transmitted power to his Vice President, Shehu said, “He (Buhari) will continue from wherever he is,”.
He explained, “The requirement of the law is that if the President is going to be absent in the country for 21 days and more, then that transmission is warranted. In this particular instance, it is not warranted.” Shehu concluded.
