Bello made this known while reacting to a media report that alleged he has made his intention known to run for the presidency come 2023.

The Governor who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary of the Kogi State Government House, Onogwu Mohammed, said that his priority now is to deliver electoral promises he made to his Kogi state people.

The Governor's aid claimed that Nigerians have been calling on Yahaya Bello to run for the presidency come 2023 because of what they have seen in him.

Some media outlets revealed the Governor declared his intention while speaking with newsmen in Abuja, saying he made his intention to run when the calls from many quarters were overwhelming.

However, when Mohammed was contacted for a confirmation, he said, “It is no longer a hidden fact that the people mentioned have been calling on the governor to run for the presidency in 2023.

Onogwu added, “Be that as it may, this is not campaign time, Bello is the governor of Kogi State and he is working to deliver his campaign promises to the people of the state.

“People from different works of life have been calling on him to run for president in 2023 based on what they know he would do and based on what they know he has done in the state.

He explains, “Kogi under Bello is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, and this is what people are seeing and are calling on Bello to run for the presidency in 2023.

“Be that as it may, the governor will make his intention known to everybody when the time comes.”
