Former minority leader in the House of Reps in the Second Republic, Junaid Mohammed is dead. The sad news was revealed by his family member last night that their father is dead after he took ill in the last three days in his Kano residence.

The deceased, a People's Redemption Party, PRP staunch member was a renowned critic in both the past and present administration of President Buhari.

He was a trained Medical Doctor who studied in the Soviet Union and later specialized as a neurosurgeon in the United Kingdom before venturing into politics.

His son, Suleiman Mohamed disclosed that their father would be buried according to Islamic right this afternoon in Kano.

The deceased was also known for his critic against the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi II.

There is one of his famous critics against the Emir Sanusi where he opined the royal father never deserved to be an Emir of Kano.

He said, “To invoke the lies and the shameless attitude of the former Emir of Kano is unfortunate because I have known him for the past 40 years. I knew him; I knew his father and mother. I also knew his grandfather. So, you should be very careful about what you say otherwise you will push some of us to go public with what we know he exemplifies because I do not believe he has any right to assume that seat and I don’t believe he can be something holier than thou,”
