The All Progressive Congress (APC) has today disclosed that its zoning formula ahead 2023 presidential election would be decided soon. The former National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena disclosed today that the party would soon after meeting with its stakeholder publicize how it would zone its ticket.
Nabena in his statement said, “Definitely there is going to be zoning, but the critical stakeholders will meet in every zone before the final decision will be taken. Mind you some people are just heating up the polity because of what they stand to benefit.
According to him, before the party would take a critical decision of this magnitude, input from stakeholders from all the zones is necessary to ensure that all party members are on the same page.
He called on Nigerians who are anxious to know who would take the flag to exercise a little patience, promising that as soon as the stakeholders meeting is concluded, it would be announced publicly which zone shall produce the candidate.
Recall, a former Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettimah, had earlier hinted that president Buhari and the Party leader, Asiwaju Tinibu would avail Nigerians of the party’s decision on zoning.
Meanwhile, the People Democratic Party (PDP) as a party had chided the ruling party that the foot-dragging by the APC on the zoning was a clear indication of APC failure ahead of the 2023 general election.
