Former Senate President of the 8th Assembly, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has warned the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stay clear of the reconciliation without interference; otherwise, he will resign and leave the stage.
Saraka issued this threat statement today in Abuja during the inauguration of the reconciliation committee of the party.
He solicited for the cooperation of all the party stakeholders including the NWC, National Executive Committee (NEC), the Board of Trustee, and Governors amongst them as well as National Assembly members if he should make progress.
The former Kwara state governor in his statement said, “We are however very clear that our most important partner in this assignment is the NWC. Therefore, we seek your support and co-operation to ensure the success of this committee on its Herculean assignment”.
“As members of this committee, we have decided to do only what is right. We do not have any personal interest and will not allow any interest other than of the party and what represents the truth, equity, objectivity, unity, and peace to influence what we will do.
“The NWC must also give us free hand to operate. I want to make it very clear that we will put in our best. That is why we seek the cooperation of the NWC.
However, Saraki disclosed that by either commission or omission if he and the team sense any form of interference from any caucus of the party, he revealed with all sense of humility, they will not hesitate to resign the assignment bestowed on them.
Meanwhile, members of the committee include former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, Former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Former Governor of Cross River, Liyel Imoke, former Katsina Governor Shema, and Hon. Mulikat Akande.
