The Presidency has disclosed that artisans in 11 states nationwide and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja have started receiving alerts of the N30,000 support of the COVID-19 survival fund. Laolu Akande, spokesperson to the Vice President stated this in Abuja today that the first trenches of the beneficiaries have started receiving the money. The said money captured under Artisan Support Scheme was meant to support Artisans as a survival fund to cushion effect from the hardship inflicted by the coronavirus and support the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) nationwide.
The beneficiaries currently captured are those in Lagos, Ondo, Kaduna, Borno, Kano, Bauchi, Anambra, Abia, Rivers, Plateau and Delta states and the FCT.
Meanwhile, registration for the second batch of the beneficiaries have already commenced, the statement added.
Subsequently, a third batch will also follow.
The statement partly reads; all the 36 states and FCT are covered and verified beneficiaries will be paid the one-time grant. Another phase has begun on the survival fund scheme where 250,000 businesses names will be registered by the CAC for free”,
According to Akande, the Federal Government will pay for the cost of the business registration of the first 250,000 candidates who shall be treated of first come first serve.
The statement further revealed that the survival fund will pay three monthS salaries of some category of workers.
It will pay N30,000 or N50,000 grant for three months to beneficiaries nationwide.
