The Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki will on Wednesday know his fate whether he will partake in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election on not.

A federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt had on Monday gave a restraining order to Obaseki from participating in the scheduled PDP gubernatorial primary election slated for 25th June 2020.

Accordingly, an aspirant in the PDP, Omoregi Ogbeide-Ihiama approached the High court demanding that the court should stop Governor Obaseki from participating in the upcoming gubernatorial primary election that is slated to hold in Edo State on the 25th June 2020 is a newcomer into the party.

Justice E.A Obile, the presiding Judge is expected to deliver judgment after hearing the matter on Wednesday ahead of the Thursday primary election to be conducted by the PDP.

However, a source who speaks on condition of anonymity revealed that Mr ogbeide-Ihiama is playing the card of one prominent south-south governor who wants to keep the party under his control in the state.

DailyPost reported that there is fear that the Edo state PDP structure would be lost to Obaseki eventually he gets away with his ambition.

Meanwhile, the Edo state PDP primary committee lead by the Bauchi state Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed are not parties to the suit meaning the primary election may be conducted even without Obaseki in the picture.
