Senator Osinowo 'Pepperito' Dies At 64

Senator Adebayo 'Pepperito' Osinowo, the lawmaker representing Lagos East senatorial district has on Monday died following a brief illness. The senator who chaired the Senate committee on commerce, industries and investment was admitted to the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital when he passed away.

Osinowo was a four-time member of the Lagos State House of Assembly before defeating Gbenga Ashafa during 2019 All Progressive Congress (APC) Primary election in Lagos east.

The senator worked at the Federal Ministry of Works in 1977 and later served as Managing Director of NITAL Internationa, Extreme Piling, Construction Company Ltd and NIMCO Dredging Company before beginning his political journey as the youth chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Colleagues and friends have expressed their sadness as well as paid their condolences to his family on social media.
