President Buhari has condemned the killing of Lawan Andimi, a Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in Michika Local Government Area, Adamawa state by the terrorist Boko Haram, describing it as inhumane and a deliberate provocative action by the insurgents.
Buhari stated this in Abuja on Tuesday through a statement by his Senior special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
The President expressed regrets that the Terrorist killed the religious leader while giving signals of readiness to let him go through releasing him to a third parties.
Mr Buhari consoled the Christian communities across the length and breadth of Nigeria as well as the government of Adamawa state and the Reverend’s immediate family for the great loss of their father.
He said the terrorist will be brought to book sooner than we think by our armed forces, saying with the new resolve of our armed forces, the criminals will have to pay dearly.
Mr President urged the lovers of peace across the world to help Nigeria in the fight against the insurgent through denying them access to assault weapons and armaments to both the Boko Haram and the ISWAP, who are bend on destroying the sub-Saharan Africa.
“To break some news items can traumatize. I’m battling with one of such. Reverend Andimi, abducted by #BokoHaram was executed yesterday,” Salkida tweeted.
Late Andimi was abducted in January when the insurgents attacked his village in Michika, Adamawa state.(NAN)
