Bayelsa Poll: Dickson Kicks, Says INEC Declared Pre-written Result

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State on Tuesday alleged that the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) declared a pre-written result, describing the election as a “federally executed operations”.

Seriake made this claim while addressing pressmen during a conference he organised in Yenago, the state capital, he claimed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Senator Douye Diri did not lose the election but was hijacked by the APC from him.

 

The governor also promised to set up a transition committee whom will be responsible for ensuring smooth transition of power come February 14, 2020, where he claimed that Bayelsans were disenfranchised during the last weekend election.

 

Recall Lyon David of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was declared winner of the gubernatorial election that was hold on Saturday.

 

Governor Dickson in his statement said “Our candidate, Senator Douye Diri and the party Chairman have been speaking about the charade called ‘Election’ that took place in Bayelsa last Saturday, and the invasion of our state by security forces of our country and about the dehumanization of our people and how the majority of the areas and in places, where our people were denied the rights to vote for the governor of their

 

According to him, what took place in Bayelsa on 16 and 17 November was not a democratic process but a Military coup targeted against Bayelsans, describing it as a conspiracy between the federal government and Nigerian security forces with the help of INEC.

 

He added, the purpose was to actualise a premeditated agenda to enthrone a preferred candidate of the central government which all can testify.

 

He claimed that “INEC which so much resources was invested, not tax payers money, but their oil money never concerned about the processes but accepted and collated the votes from Nembe, although no voting took place, Dickson added.
