The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has disqualified the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming November 16 Gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state.
The Court disqualifies Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo on the ground that he submitted inconsistent and false information on his CF0001 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to vie for the election.
Delivering the Judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo in his ruling posited that there is inconsistency in the candidate’s school leaving certificate, his first degree (BA), Masters Degree and the affidavit the APC candidates submitted to correct his name.
Justice Ekwo revealed that all his documents were carrying different names, and by extension, the truth is unverifiable and has put him in a position that all the information were assumed to be false as there is no nexus between the said documents.
Degi-Eremienyo and his Governorship candidate, David Lyon and the electoral Empire were dragged to court by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) praying for the disqualification of Degi-Eremienyo as a candidate deputizing Lyon.
