Former President of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was conspicuously absent at today’s PDP Final governorship Rally where the leadership of the party presented the PDP Governorship Candidate Sen. Douye Diri with the Party's Flag.

The Rally which took place at the Oxbowlake Boat Club in Yenagoa was attended by thousands of Party Supporters including the governors of Imo, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Benue, and Bauchi states.

Similarly, the National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus was also in attendance.

Reasons for Jonathan's absence are still unknown as at the time of filing this report.

Although the Bayelsa state governor and some associates of Jonathan have debunked reports of cold war between both leaders, finding revealed that both politicians may have gone their separate ways. It was gathered that trouble started when the Governor insisted on unilaterally producing his successor, without recourse to counsel from Jonathan.

The situation reportedly worsened when Jonathan's kinsmen demanded the position of the deputy governor. The governor again rejected the request and went ahead to anoint Senator Lawrence Erwujakpor who hails from his local government, Sagbama as the deputy. The plot, Vigil360 gathered was to pave way for him to run for the senate if PDP wins the governorship election, as they would be need for a supplementary election in the state.

Meanwhile, some members of the PDP, irked by prevailing developments in the party, are defecting to the APC ahead of the November 16 poll.
