Following the continued impasse between Edo State Government and the State House Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly direct Governor Godwin Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation for the inauguration of the state House of Assembly.
The move by President Buhari became imperative as the Edo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) refuted claims that Governor Obaseki was at loggerheads with his predecessor and National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole. Constituting a committee to look into the matter, President Buhari asked the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, and business magnate, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to see to the logical end of the issues.

Recall that the Edo State Governor and the National Chairman of APC, have been at loggerhead following the emergence of a new speaker, Mr Frank Okiye backed by in the state house of assembly.
