A popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has berated states controlled by the ruling All Progressives Congress over their insincerity in the fight against corruption.
Speaking in Kano on Tuesday, while delivering a keynote paper at a two-day stakeholders’ dialogue on corruption in Nigeria, Falana noted that Kano was the only state with a legally recognized anti-corruption body.

He said the other APC controlled states were insincere in their fight against corruption hence their refusal to constitute a formal structure to wage war against graft.

According to him “Only Kano State among all the 20 APC controlled states and indeed in the entire country has been able to establish Anti-Corruption Commission as an agency to fight corruption at the state level.

“But if we are to fight corruption effectively as a country, the job shouldn’t be only that of the Federal Government.

“Even at the federal level too, the Federal Government has too much control over EFCC and ICPC such that they are selective in their probes.”

The dialogue took place in Kano.
