President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan on Thursday swore in the former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, as a senator.
The development is coming barely two days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued him his Certificate of Return following a court order.
Rochas Okorocha was not inaugurated on Tuesday because INEC had not issued him his certificate of return.
INEC withheld his certificate after the Returning Officer claimed that he declared Okorocha winner under duress.
The former governor will represent the Imo West Senatorial District at the red chamber.
