The former minority leader of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio has called on the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to resign honourably or be booted out of office.

Sen. Akpabio made the call on Wednesday at the National Assembly Complex after President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2019 Budget proposal to the legislators. Briefing newsmen, he called on Saraki and Dogara to tender their resignations because they are in the minority in the National Assembly.

“Yes, they couldn’t talk because they are minority leaders. They are not even supposed to talk in the first place. They should therefore do the needful and resign honourably or face being booted out of office.”

Recall that a while ago, President Muhammadu Buhari presented the N8.8 trillion 2019 budget proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly amidst tensions. The rowdy session saw APC and PDP lawmakers locked in shouting match at the House of Representatives venue of the presentation.
