The Nigerian Army has again recorded another feat in the ongoing offensive on Boko Haram locations in Gamboru Ngala. The current wave of offensives followed directives of the Chief Of Army Staff (CAOS), Lt Gen T.Y Buratai that Commanders in Operation Lafiya Dole carry out massive attacks and offensive missions on BH locations.
The army announced the deed on its Twitter handle on November 29, stating that Boko Haram elements who were gearing up for a possible attack on sighting troops abandoned their logistics and equipment and fled in different directions.
It stated further that gallant troops engaged in offensive patrols on two fronts, Ngala Bridge and Gamboru Town towards Boko Haram withdrawal routes along Wurge village in Borno State. They recovered large cache of arms.
"The equipment captured includes one AK-47 Rifle with registration number 819044; two AK-47 magazines, 443 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 94 rounds of PKT ammunition, 16 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and 4 RPG Bombs."
Other weapons recovered by the valiant troops include, one Hilux GT van, two motorcycles, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), one Anti-Aircraft telescope sight, one clearing rod, among others.
