The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended the people of Anambra for purportedly boycotting the ongoing governorship election in the state. The proscribed group gave the commendation in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful. The group attributed the low turnout to its campaign and directive. The statement read in part;

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has rubbished reports claiming that he has secretly defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to realize his ambition of winning the Presidential election. The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made this known in a statement issued by his media aide Paul Ibe on Friday, after members of Concerned Citizens for Atiku paid him a visit.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has asked an Abuja Federal High Court to dismiss the suit seeking to compel him to produce the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. On Thursday, Kanu's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor had brought an application before the court, praying the court to order the Chief of Army Staff to produce his client alive or dead.
