President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, November 22, inaugurated an audit committee.

The committee is expected to audit assets and loots recovered by government agencies and to submit their report in four weeks from now.

Members of the committee are Mr Olufemi Lijadu, Mrs Gloria Chinyere Bibigha, and Mr Mohammed Nami. The committee is to audit all recovered accounts up to April 10, 2017.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday issued the winner of the Anambra state Governorship election, Chief Willie Obiano his Certificate of Return. The State Resident Electoral Officer, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji who handed the Certificate to Gov. Obiano at the Commission's headquarters in Awka urged him to use his second term to consolidate on his achievement and better the lives of the people.

When the social media went agog last week over restlessness at the EFCC by core staff of the Commission who levelled several allegations including administrative incompetence against Ibrahim Magu, many Nigerians expected a swift action by the government to investigate these ballegations. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is set to resume industrial action following alleged refusal by the Federal Government to release the Union's Check-Off Dues and Cooperative deductions totaling over N5billion. Popular human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) has denied the allegations that he bought a house from the embattled former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina. Falana was responding to Maiana's lawyer, Sani Katu who had accused him of being a beneficiary of the recovered asset.
