President Buhari Request Confirmation Of CCB Nominees From Senate

President Muhammadu Buhari has made a request to the Nigerian Senate to request for the confirmation of nominees of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) soon. In the letter, President Buhari said the curriculum vitae of 10 nominees including one of them as Chairman, have also been sent for the senators’ consideration.

Buhari Launches Action Plan To Prevent Violent Extremism

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 28 launched a Policy Framework and National Action Plan to prevent and counter violent extremism. The Action Plan is a three-year action plan to be implemented by ministries, departments, and agencies.

President Muhammadu Buhari has instructed that the balance of the first 50 per cent part of the Paris Club refund should be paid to the states of the federation. President Buhari gave the directive on Monday during a meeting with the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Eid-El-Maulud: FG Declares Friday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday as public holiday in commemoration of the Muslim Eid-El-Maulud celebration. The Minister of Interior, retired Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, according to a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday announced that it will suspend plenary from November 30. The Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr Yussuff Lasun announced this today during the debate over the proposed 2018 Budget. Embattled former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina, has finally broken silence on the allegations of corruption levelled against him.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Channels Television which aired on Monday, Mr Maina insisted that he was innocent of the allegations preferred against him.

He, however, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to give him an opportunity to prove his innocence, claiming that the President was being deceived by the people who surround him.
