Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar arrived the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Tuesday, accompanied by a large crowd of supporters, PDP leaders from Adamawa State, and the governor of Niger State, Babangida Muaza.

After he was received by the spokesman for the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Atiku held a meeting with members of the National Caretaker Committee of the party led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Channels Television repors

Atiku in his address said his visit is to reunite with members of the party, as he his coming is to show his face, to establish the fact that he has come home.

About eight Commissioners in Adamawa state have dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the defection of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar from the party. The commissioners who ostensibly belong to the Atiku political camp include Alhaji Daware, Commerce and Trade, Ahmadu Waziri, Agriculture, Dr. Fatima Atiku Abubakar, commissioner of health and Commissioner of Works and Housing.

Popular Nigerian comedian, Francis Agoda widely known in the entertainment industry as 'I GO Dye' has called on former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar not to contest the 2019 general elections based on the reasons he gave for dumping the All Progressive Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party. I Go Dye made the call on Tuesday in an open letter to the Waziri Adamawa. He said since Atiku in his speech talked about having the interest of the youths at heart, he should rather support a younger candidate in 2019.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar will on Tuesday visit the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the party's national convention slated for November 9, 2017 in Abuja. Dayo Adedeye, the Publicity Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee confirmed the planned visit to Punch.

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned back to Nigeria on Monday December 4, 2017, following his earlier trip to attend a summit tagged 'Aqaba Retreat' in the coastal city of Aqaba in Jordan.

The President arrived Jordan on Friday, during which he met with the King of Jordan, King Abdullah (II) and other African Heads of States, to review strategies in fighting terrorism and reinforcing joint security structures in the sub-region West African countries.
