There are indications that the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose may have concluded plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following protracted leadership crisis within the party.

The move according to those in the inner circle of the Governor, is to avoid similar political fiasco that characterized the Ondo State Governorship primaries and subsequently culminated in the failure of the party to produce a successor to Olusegun Mimiko. This is more so as activities preceding the 2018 governorship election in the state appear to be gaining momentum.

It was observed that logos, flags and other party insignias hitherto placed on some structures including his campaign offices and billboards erected at strategic locations, have been removed or replaced.

For instance, while every insignia of the PDP was removed from Governor Fayose’s campaign office at Olora Junction, Adebayo, Ado Ekiti, after the building was repainted, recent billboard erected close to the gate of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital now has the following inscriptions "Ekiti 2018: Support Continuity, Fayose Leads, We Follow. Again, It's Going To Be 16-0".

This is contrary to the tradition where the Governor embosses PDP logo on almost all government structures.

This could yet be another political strategy by the Governor who is deeply embroiled in the leadership struggle in the PDP.
