Emerging reports indicate that about nine Muslim worshippers are feared dead following a bomb explosion in an unnamed Mosque in Mubi, Adamawa state. According to the report, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday while Muslim faithful were observing the 'subhi prayer' in the Mosque.

Apart from the Police and the DSS, officials of the State Emergency Management Agency have since been on ground to evacuate dead bodies as well as offer medical attention to the wounded. Meanwhile, the Governor of the state, Muhammed Umar Jibril Bindow has condemned the attack describing it as 'act of wickedness' perpetrated by criminals. In a statement issued the Special Assistant on Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Martins Dickson, the governor assured that his administration will continue to work toward securing the people.

“We will continue to ensure that our people are protected and given a sense of security which is the most important responsibility of any government. We have also engaged all security agencies to ensure that this type of wicked act does not repeat itself in any part of the state.”

“The bomb blast is undoubtedly a setback to the peace and calm that had returned to Mubi which was destroyed by Boko Haram,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
