The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has warned public officers in Nigeria to seize the opportunity that their offices present to make modest contributions to national growth and development as power remains transient.
Keyamo warned public officers to make good use of their time in office, as they would certainly bow out at one point to allow others contribute their own quota too.
He explained that as a public officer, he has decided to stay back from the razzmatazz of office because no one can annex public office as a personal chattel.
His terse statement posted on his official Twitter page on Thursday morning read;
“Public officers must always bear in mind the cliche that power is transient. They have limited time to make their modest contributions and bow out for others to continue.
“No one can annex public office as a personal chattel. That’s why I recoil from the razzmatazz of public office.”
Dailypost reports that Keyamo’s comment is coming at a time when talks on third term agenda and 2023 presidency are stirring up the polity.
