The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has called on the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to either convene a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting or resign without further delay.

Salihu Mohammed Lukman, the Director-General of the progressive forum made this call as the crisis brewing in the APC is becoming unbearable at both state and the National level.

Oshiomhole was recently involved in a game of power tussle with his successor, Governor Godwin Obaseki which the progressive described as a show of shame for the progressive family.

Contained in a statement which was signed and shared to pressmen on Wednesday, Lukman alleged that the National Working Committee (NEC) which is the Apex decision body of the Party has been relegated by a selected few individuals who now parade themselves to be the decision making organ of the party while the main organ seems to have been suspended.

The statement titled ‘APC and our Inconceivable Organisational Challenges: Urgent Call to our Leaders,’ Lukman noted that the crises currently rocking the progressive which leads the party to lose some states in the recent general elections which were formally considered as the APC strongholds are those the NEC seeks to sort out.

On the sideline, the decision of the High Court disqualifying the APC Deputy Governor of the Bayelsa Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo as the APC candidate for the November 16 election is another trouble that needs to be handled.

While working on the modalities to vacate the judgement, is disheartening to every concerned APC committee member to ignore the reality staring them in the face, part of the recklessness was how the party ceded victory to PDP in states like Zamfara, Adamawa, Bauchi and Rivers which is all accredited to bad leadership of the party.

He called on the party members instead of focusing on forthcoming winning election, they are about to repeat the Zamfara scenario alike.

However, the party is busy suspending the NEC, which is the highest decision making organ of the party. He said this is the more reason why the party need to convene the meeting as the National working committee of the party seemed to have gave up their powers to the NEC.
