The Director-General of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Organisation for the November 16th Gubernatorial Election in Kogi state, Smart Adeyemi, has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which is the main opposition party is yet to show its readiness for the upcoming poll.

Adeyemi disclosed this while speaking with the First Secretary, British High Commission in Nigeria, Alistair Hodson, who visited Kogi for political assessment on the level of preparedness of all parties involved in the election ahead.

He claimed, “Our concern is that the PDP being the main opposition party in the election, have not demonstrated any level of preparedness for the election. We have intelligence from an authentic source that they are planning to unleash mayhem to discredit this election.

In his statement, It is quite worrisome when you have an opposition that is keeping mum at the peak of events, until today, they are not campaigning. You can’t see their posters and they are not talking.

According to Adeyemi, the APC is keeping tab on the main opposition, they are convinced with what they heard that the PDP are planning to disrupt the election, therefore, they are calling on the nation security and the international community to take note that PDP is not ready for the election and the APC are urging them to open up and tell Nigerians they are not ready.

Meanwhile, the APC his party has fully prepared for the day and are optimistic of victory.

However, while reacting to Adeyemi claim, Austin Okai, the Deputy Director Public Communication of PDP governorship campaign council, disclosed the PDP was fully ready for the election and that the official flag off of its campaign holds this Friday in Lokoja.

His party has changed its strategy of embarking on door to door campaign informing the APC to prepare for a defeat on the election day.
