A high ranking senator representing the Southern Senatorial district of Taraba State, Emmanuel Bwacha, has insisted that in all fairness, the South East region of the country deserves the chance to produce the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

The lawmaker, however, said that 2023 is still a long way and that the decision is God’s to make.

In an exclusive interview with the Sun, the Senator said it is morally right for all regions that make up the federation to enjoy the opportunity of producing the president, stressing that such arrangements could further strengthen the union.

“I wouldn’t know much and so I can’t say much because I don’t have much say in where the next president should from,” he told Sun.

According to him, a lot can happen between now and 2023 beyond what anybody is capable of thinking.

“Having said that, personally, I think it is time to give the South East a chance,” he added.

“But like I said, that is just my personal opinion and based on human thinking but you know, God’s ways are different from ours and 2023 is still a long way off.

“A lot can happen between now and then beyond what any of us is capable of thinking.”
