President Muhammadu Buhari has slated two days, 15 and 16th August 2019 for an induction retreat of the newly screened 43 ministers with the possibility of inaugurating them on Day 2.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha disclosed this today in Abuja following their confirmation by the senate. The SGF said all Ministers are to get set with their relevant documents for their study and guidance, preparatory to the inauguration of the cabinet it will be set for collection at the office of the SGF (Cabinet Office) from 10.00am on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
According to the SGF, the already screened Ministers are expected to come along with their updated CVs and submit it to the SGF office; it should include both hard and soft copies and any valid identification document.
In his word partly reads, “I am pleased to inform you that, in view of the need to allow Ministers designate enough time to study the documents (Status Report on Policies, Programmes and Projects; the 2019-2023 Road Map, and FEC Handbook among others) and considering the upcoming Sallah break, Mr. President has approved an Induction Retreat for Ministers Designate to be held at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja from August 15-16, 2019,”
He enjoined those concerned to contact the Permanent secretary, cabinet office (CAO) for more clarification.
Meanwhile, all the nominated Ministers were cleared by the senate; they are all waiting to be assigned with portfolios. However, the said portfolios are expected to be assigned immediately after the inauguration, the SGF added.
