The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has hinted that the 2019 budget will be passed on Tuesday 30th April 2019
The Senate slated today Wednesday for the consideration of the committee on appropriation report which later turned out not visible.
Mr. Saraki revealed that there is need for all lawmakers to be handy with detail of the budget which was why the consideration could not hold.
Meanwhile, the Senate president directed the National Assembly secretariat to make sure the copies are made available to the senators ahead of the passage on Tuesday.
According to Mr, Saraki, “Some members are yet to get the printed copies of the details and has already directed the Clerk to ensure that latest by Monday he should make the printed copies available so that everybody can witness the details of the budget, subsequently, they can then pass it on Tuesday.
He disclosed that they are avoiding a situation that will deny any of its members a copy so that before the passage, every member must have studied the document.
The committee had last week Wednesday laid its report on the 2019 Appropriation Bill.
The N8.83 trillion 2019 budget was presented to a joint session of the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 19, 2018.
