The presidency today revealed that President Buhari would not interfere in the process that will produce the leadership of the National Assembly. Senator Ita Enang, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters disclosed this while addressing journalist in Abuja.

It could be recalled earlier after the conclusion of the National Assembly/Presidential election, Ovie Omo-Agege the Lawmaker representing Delta Central Senatorial district that, President Buhari will determine the next Senate President stressing that person must be loyal to the President.

In his words, “Anybody who is going to be Senate President in the 9th Senate, must be somebody who is loyal to Mr. President, the party and the constitution," the Senate president is going to be determined by President Buhari. The President would indicate to us whom he will be comfortable working with.

However, going by today’s declaration by Mr, Enang had rendered Omo-Agege claim to be void as he entirely said a different thing to Nigerians. He said, "The President believes so much in the rule of law, hence he would allow each arm of government to perform its constitutional responsibility without interference."
