MASSOB Dares IPOB

Amidst resolve by IPOB to disrupt Anambra polls, another pro-Biafran group, MASSOB has urged Biafrans to procure their voter's cards and vote for the candidate of their choice in the forthcoming election. This came as a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince John Okechukwu Emeka, over the weekend, said no group has the power to stop the Anambra State governorship election slated for November 18.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Peter Fayose, on Friday approved the appointment of news commissioners into the State Executive Council. The appointment of the new commissioners was contained in a statement by Fayose’s Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has stated that presidential assent was an unnecessary addition to the process of amendment of the Constitution.

The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari yesterday charged Nigerian women to be at the forefront of the nation's Unity especially now that some people are spreading hate speeches intended to destroy the country. Aisha Buhari made the statement on Thursday in Owerri at the Imo State August Meeting organized by the Wife of the Imo state Governor, Nneoma Okorocha.

Human Rights activist and legal luminary, Femi Falana, SAN have advised the federal government to restrain the Department of State Services (DSS) from investigating cases of corruption, economic and other financial crimes. Falana made the suggestion in a statement released yesterday on his review of the reorganisation of the anti-graft agencies by the Federal Government.
