The Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed September 11 to deliver judgment in the suit filed by Sen. Dino Melaye (APC- Kogi), challenging his planned recall by some voters in his constituency. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, the vacation judge has fixed the September date after listening and adopting arguments from all parties involved in the suit.
Nigerian Army Immunizes 1,227 Children In Yobe
The Nigerian Army on Wednesday disclosed that it had immunized over 1, 227 children against polio virus in some communities in Yobe Sate. The spokesperson of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Emmanuel Kingsley who made this known in a statement issued in Maiduguri, the Borno state Capital stated that the Children were immunized using the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the exercise. He added that apart from the vaccination of children, the Army also offered free medical services to residents in the area.
President Buhari Has Not Broken Any Law, Senate Tells Protesters
The Nigerian Senate has called on those participating in the "Resume or Resign" protest to discontinue the action as President Muhammadu Buhari has violated no law. The Senate made the position known in a statement issued by its spokesman, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi. The statement accused the Protesters of creating unnecessary tension in the polity stressing that the development was distracting the presidency from economic and security issues confronting the country.

Court orders Plateau Govt to pay N1.57bn to sacked councillors
A high court sitting in Jos has ordered the Plateau Government to pay N1.57bn as severance allowance to sacked councillors in the 17 local government areas of the state, sequel to a court judgment which faulted their dissolution in 2015. Mr. Gyang Zi, lawyer to the councillors, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Jos, expressed happiness with the ruling.

The Kwara State Government has disclosed that the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki has returned all pensions collected from the state Government since he left office as the governor of the state. The Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold who made this known on Wednesday stated that the clarification became necessary following controversial and unverified media reports surrounding payment of pensions to former state governors of the state, particularly the Senate President.
