A Federal Government delegation comprising the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Danbazau (retd.) has arrived Damaturu, Yobe State, Punch reports. According to the report, the delegation will hold meetings with the state government officials, principal of the Government Science and Technical Girls College in Dapchi where 105 girls were said to have been adopted by members of Boko Haram last week.

The crisis rocking the Kaduna All Progressives Congress took a new dimension on Friday, Governor Nasir el-Rufai sued the senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Shehu Sani, before the state high court. The governor is seeking N500m damages from the senator for each of the four alleged offences, one of which is defamation of character. The total damages being sought amounts to N2bn.

Senator Ali Wakili, Bauch South Senatorial District has protested against the removal of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum. He claimed that his removal was orchestrated by few senators, as no general meeting was held to arrive at the decision.

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), says the National Assembly’s attempt to reorder the 2019 election sequence is illegal as it breaches several provisions of the 1999 Constitution. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said he was sorry that the attack which led to the abduction of pupils from the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, happened.
