Some party faithful of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party in Ogun state has cried out to President Buhari and the Chairman of extraordinary Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni, for quick intervention as the party was crashing in the state.

The group spoke under the auspice of APC Concerned Group (ACG), Ogun state stated that it has become necessary for the party to save its Ogun state chapter from interest groups who have factionalized the party to suit their interest against the main interest of the national party.

Contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the ACG, Mr. Olusola Makinde, in Abeokuta, the group called on the Buni-led reconciliation committee to wade into the matter as the party is currently registering and revalidating new members before its too late

Makinde expressed concern against the replacement of duly elected executives of the party by a three-man handpicked Caretaker committee by the National Working Committee (NWC) in the state.

He said that all attempts to reconcile all warring members and groups failed in the state.

Recalling the state visit by the reconciliation committee of the party, he said the committee expressed concern that the refusal of the state party stakeholders to honor their invitation made the reconciliation hit the brick wall.

Makinde expressed regret that the reconciliation failed; describing the stakeholder's act as shameful being the national leaders of the party they could not attend the meeting held in the state.

He expressed concern saying that what is happening at the grassroots level of the party is a factionalized APC, “it shows evidence of cracks within the party” Makinde added.

Meanwhile, the ACG called on President Buhari being the national leader of the party and the president at the same time should wade into the matter before it consumes APC in the state.
