The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has revealed that political marauders, ethnoreligious bigots, and diabolical influencers are the group of personalities pushing for regime change.
This was contained in a communiqué made available at the end of their emergency meeting held at Kaduna yesterday.
The northern Governors call of well-meaning Nigerians to resist those partaking in the futile adventure describing them as “enemies of the nation”.
The communiqué assigned by the Chairman of the Governors Forum, Governor Samuel Lalong of Plateau state. It was revealed that during the meeting, the governors discussed issues bordering on national security, especially the impending ‘EndSARS’ protest which in the last few days has cost Nigerians lives and their properties.
The statement partly reads; “The forum regrets the diabolical influencers in form of hooliganism, ethnoreligious bigots and even political marauders who are bent on pulling the nation down its knees and pushing for regime change.
“The forum called on all Nigerians to resist these enemies of the nation by supporting Mr. President, the federal government and democracy at large,” it added.
According to the statement, the governors called on the well-meaning citizens to exercise restraint from an unwarranted form of sentiments, harassment, and intimidation of citizens from their resident states. They disclosed this is the real antics of enemies of the state who after failing at the ballot box want to push for regime change through anarchy.
